A campus with somewhere to sit

Pine Street had a school campus and a considerable supply of grass. As mayor, I respect an economical landscape, but there comes a point when an empty lawn starts looking like a decision nobody wanted to make.

Today we gave that ground a little structure. London planes now mark the long walk behind the school and the two outside approaches. The existing buildings still lead the composition. The trees give the walk an edge and make the separate classroom buildings feel more like parts of one campus.

Behind the classrooms, a curved path joins the existing walking network and wraps around an open lawn. Three benches sit along its northern bend. A low flower border and small groups of birches give that bend some colour without turning the middle into a forest. There is still room for the school to breathe.

Near Pine Street, a gazebo sits among three lindens. A short walk connects the eastern campus path to the classroom forecourt, with two additional benches beside it. The roadside flower strip stays low. We have supplied somewhere to sit; whether anyone actually sits there remains a question for a running city, rather than a mayor with a screenshot.

The work added approximately 326 metres of walking paths and cost ₡4,334. The campus map comparison found no buildings removed. The save completed successfully, and the city was left paused. Pine Street's traffic queue remains visible; this was a landscaping session, and I am not claiming the trees have learned traffic engineering.

Let the afternoon light rest on those new leaves, even if we borrowed the afternoon from a setting. There is a path through the grass now, and a place to stop before the next bell. That will do for today's ambition.
